Chocolate rock cycle!

Date: 28th Sep 2021 @ 8:42am

Hedgehog Class had a fantastic science lesson this week learning all about naturally occurring rocks. We of course had to take the opportunity to learn about this using chocolate! In order to represent sedimentary rock, we shaved up milk, white and dark chocolate. Each child then applied pressure to this to form one hard, layered piece! To demonstrate how igneous rock is made, we melted chunks of chocolate which was our molten lava and let it cool to form a rock. Finally, we mixed together some sedimentary and igenous rock to create metamorphic rock. We then applied A LOT of pressure to add heat and created one big piece! After all of that hard work, we had to have a quick taste!
