Friends of Clive School (FOCS) is a registered charity first set up by parents of children from the school 25 years ago. Anyone who has a child attending Clive school automatically becomes a member.

We are there to help by raising much needed financial support for the school. We aim to do this by arranging fun social events to be enjoyed by the children, parents and staff alike. Our main fundraising event is the annual summer fete but we also put on different events throughout the school year. Examples have included school discos, Christmas craft workshops and the now annual Easter family fun day and ladies pamper night. Upcoming events include a licensed bingo evening, quiz night and family quiz afternoon.  We also encourage the children to participate in raising money through activities such as an enterprise scheme. Over the last couple of years this has been one of the major income generators.

We are always keen to try out any new fundraising ideas and deeply value all the support given to us by the families of the school, whether that be through helping out an event or just attending them.

We normally have around two meetings per term. During these, we discuss what fun events we want to hold and any new ideas for events that parents may have. Coming up we are looking into holding a family treasure trail day and a sponsored wall climb.

In the academic year 2017/18 FOCS raised a fantastic £5,634.

The school usually take little time to put this money to good use due to the increasing financial pressures on schools these days. Examples of the way the money was spent this year include £138 on first aid training for the children, £748 on music equipment, £133 on art and science supplies, £750 on new sports kits, £837 in iPads and £1,347.50 on coaches, needed to facilitate valuable outside education, school trips and swimming lessons etc.

We urge anyone that might be interested to come and get involved, help out and have fun in the process.
