Advent journey day!

We had a fantastic Advent journey day on Monday! Red Squirrel class were given some key words to think about including incarnation, gospel, advent and new testament. We began our day talking about the word "advent" and how it means "arriving" or "coming." We watched a video all about the Christmas story and discussed why we celebrate Christmas every year. The children drew some beautiful pictures of the Christmas story and then we used some of our resources in the classroom to make a Christmas scene! After lunch we got busy making our very own advent wreaths. Each candle represents something different. We decorated our class tree and Mrs Watts took some volunteers to create a real wreath to hang on our door. It was a busy and exciting day!!
