‘Aim High’

Governors

As an academy school in a small Multi Academy Trust (Fields MAT), Clive has a Local Governing Body (LGB) that reports to the Trust Board. The structure of the LGB is determined by the Trust's Terms of Reference.

Governors can be contacted via the school office (01939 220385 or [email protected])  Governors for the academic year 2023/24 are:

Mrs Kate Bentham
Coopted Governor

I am a coopted Governor at Clive, and have been since being elected as a parent governor by parents in October 2016. I attend the full Governing Board meetings and Chair the Safeguarding Sub Committee. I am the Safeguarding Governor and one of the Governors with a special interest in communications, marketing and website. My day job involves working in Early Help and Safeguarding, supporting children and families in accessing the right information or service at the right time. I also deliver safeguarding training, and deliver briefings to parents on safeguarding issues. My overall aim of being a Governor is for children, parents and staff have a positive experience of their time at Clive CE School.

Rev. Paul Cawthorne

Foundation Governor

I’m the village priest and started school myself just down the road at Prees. Before ordination I was a CAB specialist support worker in the Potteries and Warwickshire then international aid worker in warzones. I appreciate the open-hearted traditional feel and spectacular setting of Clive CE School and am privileged to lead weekly worship and enjoy getting to know the children.

Miss Laura Anderson
Staff Governor

I am a Year 1 and 2 class teacher at Clive CofE Primary School. I have worked here for five years across the key stages and joined as a staff governor in 2022. Previously, I worked for two years in a large, three form entry school in Telford where I developed many skills that I brought with me to Clive. It has been great to attend each Governing Body meeting, where I can celebrate the success of the school with other members and discuss how we can continue to thrive as a small, rural church school. Clive is a very special place with an extremely hard working staff team that I feel privileged to be a part of.

Mrs Bryony Rowlands
Parent Governor

I manage the Shropshire and Powys office of a leading Healthcare company, being responsible for over 200 amazing Healthcare staff. With a background in HR and Recruitment I have had a career for over 20 years in this field.

I graduated from Oxford with a BTh in Theology and Philosophy so I have an open-minded view of religion and its impact in daily life. Having lived for most my working life in Dubai and Australia I finally put roots down in the UK and have lived in Clive for the last 5 years.

Miss Nicola Brayford
Executive Headteacher

I have been privileged to have been Head teacher of Clive CE Primary School since 2018.  It is a small school with a big heart where the children are held at the centre of everything that takes place.  As part of Fields Multi Academy Trust, the staff contribute much to the shared learning and professional development opportunities.

Mrs Leela Simms

Trust Appointed Governor

Clive C of E Primary is a wonderful school that welcomes pupils, parents and staff as family. I am lucky to be a part of that family with two children currently attending the school; I feel privileged to contribute to its ongoing development as a co-opted governor. I work in local government; managing strategic property activities that support and enable a diverse range of services. As a school governor I aim to ensure that our talented teaching staff have the optimum infrastructure and culture from which they can inspire our pupils to lifelong learning, adventure and fulfilment.

Mrs Sallie Watts

Coopted Governor (Assistant Head)

I am a co-opted governor for our church school. As Assistant Headteacher, I support Miss Brayford in the day to day running of the school and am a first point of contact for children, parents and staff. Children are at the heart of all that I do for school. As we prepare them for their future, we are mindful that they are growing up in an ever-changing world. Therefore, we need to prepare them for whatever they choose to do in life and wherever this may be. Therefore, we develop Respect, Responsibility and Resilience for their journey into their future. These are our three key values in school. All children are encouraged to Aim High. They all have the potential to grow into whatever they aspire to be. We, as staff, are here to facilitate and guide this.  I am proud to work in a church school. This guides my day-to-day life and the way I approach each part of my job. I have a particular passion for sustainability and the role we, as a school, play in supporting, teaching and influencing children and families to make choices that have minimal impact on our beautiful world.
