Dormouse class Week beginning 23rd September

Next week, we will continue to talk about families. We are reading The family book as a whole class and exploring different families. If you would like to share photos of your families for the children to talk about, please send them via the administrator's email address. We will also be talking about any pets that the children might have. We will be talking about the painting One of the Family by Frederick George Cotman and creating our own drawings and paintings about our families and pets.

In phonics, Nursery are learning the rhyme 5 LIttle Monkeys and beginning to listen to the sounds in words. Reception are talking about our phonics book - Out in Town and the sounds that we would hear in town. 

In mark making we are making smiley face shapes and building gross motor skills by stretching. 

In maths we are continuing to develop counting skills and to say the amount that we have. Reception will also be looking at ways to make 2 and 3. For example 3 is made up of  2 and 1.
