‘Aim High’

Dormouse class week beginning 7th October

Date: 4th Oct 2024 @ 5:18pm

Hello everyone

It's been another fantastic week. We have worked hard on handwriting and pencil grip this week with great successes.

Next week, we are thinking about the houses that we live in - what they are made from and how they have been built. If you are able to share with children how old your house is, that would be great. In English, we are reading the story This is my house by Michael Rosen and for handwriting we will be making a mountain shape ^ and beginning to form the letter a.

In phonics, Nursery are learning the rhyme Jack and Jill and we will be focusing on alliteration. Reception are moving on to the text At the Match and talking about what has happened in the story and predicting what could happen next.

In Maths, Nursery are learning about measures and in particular full and empty. Reception are comparing amounts and using stem sentences using more than and fewer than.

We hope that you have a great weekend and we look forward to another fantastic week next week.
