Hedgehog Blog Week Beginning 3.2.25
Date: 4th Feb 2025 @ 3:59pm
Hello Hedgehogs! We have had such a busy time since coming back from Christmas. We have been working hard in all areas. Just a few things to share- in English we are doing Book Fest and we are working with the author Helen Peters. She came in last Friday and did a great workshop and our aim by the end of Easter is for each child to create their own animal rescue story.
Mrs Rockey who reads at school - has kindly sponsored Cuthbert the Cuckoo for hedgehog class to follow his epic journey! It is part of a ground-breaking satellite tracking project following British cuckoos to Africa and back again on their migration. https://www.bto.org/our-science/projects/cuckoo-tracking-project/cuthbert
Our topic this term is Vikings- we have done some fascinating work on finding out; where did the Vikings come from? How did the Vikings travel from Scandinavia to Britain? Why did the Vikings raid and invade Britain? We also have another project afternoon at the end of this term to celebrate all the hard work for this topic. Date to be given nearer the end of term. The Viking project details are on the website too. Next week we are on a trip to Whixall to meet a Viking!
In maths we are working hard on our times tables and really trying to embed these. Any time on TTRS would be great to do with your child. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Friday dressed for Number Day.
