Olympic Week!

This week has been Olympic Week at Clive school! Red Squirrel class decided to focus on the country France, as we know it is the host country for this years Olympic games. The children have been finding out lots of information and completed a fact file all about France. We learnt some new french words and even made some delicious crepes!! On Monday, we went outside and did some different "fitness tests" on the playground. We focused on how our bodies change while we're exercising and talked about heart rate and breathing and also the importance of warming up our bodies! We had a very special visitor this week; a real Olympic athelete!! Adele Nicholl is a shot put and bob sleigh champion, who gave us a very inspirational talk. She comes from Welshpool and went to a very similar small school! She has competed across the world and it was amazing listening to how passionate she is about her sports. We welcomed Whixall school here on Wednesday to take part in some different sporting events on the field. It was lovely to see Red Squirrels being so kind and welcoming to the other children and we had a wonderful morning. What a superb week we have had!
