‘Aim High’

Week beginning 25th November

Date: 22nd Nov 2024 @ 9:06pm

It was an unexpectedly snowy week this week and we took advantage of this weather to explore science investigations and snow based stories. We read a variety of new texts and this inspired us to build snow houses and to explore and enjoy the outdoors. We have been thinking about how weather changes and connecting this to the seasons.

Next week, we continue to explore our topic about homes and families. We will be taking a look through the window and making observations about the world around us. We will be encouraging children in class to also do this at home and making drawings about what they can see.

During phonics, Reception are using the phonics that they have learned to write simple words using correct letter formation. Next week, we have our final set of phase 2 sounds - l ll le ss.

Nursery are learning the rhyme Five LIttle Ducks. We are also continuing our work on oral blending and segmenting.

In maths, Nursery are using the rhyme Five LIttle Ducks to practice one to one counting and counting in the correct order. Reception will be applying what we have been learning this term in maths games such as dominoes and dice games.

We are really excited to present our Nativity this year and we are busily practising our songs. We look forward to seeing you.

Have a lovely weekend.
