Easter Journey Day

Class: Red Squirrel Class Year: 2024 - 2025

Happy Easter everyone

What a great day we had celebrating our Easter Journey Day. All classes took our learning about this Christain festival further by asking important questions and exploring different traditions and the reasons behind them.

Dormouse class explored the sequence of Holy Week by learning about Palm Sunday, making palm crosses, Maundy Thursday by sharing food and washing feet, Good Friday by looking at the importance of the cross, Easter Sunday by learning about the symbol of new life.

Red Squirrels heard again the Easter story and created Freeze Frames to depict the important aspects of Holy Week. After thinking about the signifiance of the cross, they used different materials to decorate their crosses and listened to music, paying attention to the words sung.

Hedgehog class talked about the different crosses presented and what they meant for different people. They then delved deeper into the signifiance of Easter for Christians, asking and answering important questions about life beyond death.

Badger class heard again the Easter story and re enacted these through drama, poetry and artwork.
